Akamai start-up accelerator programme 2nd Cohort
The 2nd Cohort of Akamai startup accelerator programme with ICCW as the implementer for emerging start-ups has kicked off.
Shortlisted startups Smartterra Water Management, Solinas Integrity, Eco Stp, Inrem, Water Chakra, Centre for Aquatic Livelihood Jaljeevika are undergoing rigorous boot camp and two start-ups will be selected for the grant.
The Akamai accelerator programme supports innovators working on water technologies, helps them in research and in successfully deploying their solutions. The applications from start-ups were screened based on their social benefits along with technology innovation and their readiness for the market.

Our grantees of Accelerator program for early-stage innovations in water-ATREE and FFEM, have been greatly benefitted from the mentoring and are constantly expanding their learning horizon,” said Neha Jain, Director Program Management, Akamai Technologies India and Co-Chair, Akamai Technologies India CSR Trust.

Earlier, two start-ups the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) and the Foundation for Environmental Monitoring (FFEM), were selected for the first Cohort of Akamai’s Accelerator Program.
ATREE builds a citizen-centric platform that to bring together communities, local bodies, and corporations for protection of lakes and FFEM develops a simple, inexpensive and open-source water test kit designed for use by citizens.
