ICCW conducted a ‘students certificate educational program’ at ICCW and IITM
The high school kids from Gurgaon were introduced to science and research at ICCW and IIT Madras during a 4-day partnership program with the Danish Water Forum (DWF), during February 24-27, 2020. Highlights of the engagement are:
Visit to ICCW and a walk-in of the laboratories, and NCCRD (National Center for Combustion Research and Development), and a tour of the green IITM campus
Practical sessions on Water quality, Analysis of hardness of water, E. coli growth, and some fun experiments in lab
Talks delivered to kids by Padma Shri Professor T Pradeep, Dr Ramya Dwivedi, Dr Srividya Kailasam, Dr Kamalesh Chaudhary and Mr Sripati Cowlagi
Visit to STP at IITM, demonstrated by Ms Anu and team, Prof Ligy Philip’s group
Visit to lake restoration sites – ongoing and complete works – led by Dr Kishore and team, Prof Indumathi’s group
Visit to the WATER MATTERS exhibition at PSTC, Chennai, organised by US Consulate and Care Earth Trust and visit to the Light house and the Marina beach
